  5. Hi, We are planning to visit Japan this year and we were wondering if you ventured up to Omiya (near Tokyo)to there Bonsai Village and how it compares with Kinashi. As we only want to visit one village, which one would be the best.
    Look forward to your comments

  6. Sally, did you get an answer to your post? The nurseries in Kinashi are not really within easy walking distance of each other, and are probably best visited if you will have a bike or car. Most of the nurseries in Omiya are an easy walk from Omiya Koen Station on the Tobu Noda Line, which is about an hour from Tokyo by train.
Also, if you plan to be doing your travels around the Tokyo area, Kinashi is a significant distance away. It’s about a three-hour train-ride from either Kyoto or Osaka, though.

  7. Let me correct my earlier comment. I just visited Kinashi again, and several nurseries ARE within easy walking distance of Kinashi station. I think I must have taken some wrong turns the first time. It helps to have a guide.
