Japan Bonsai Tour

Kinashi Locale 2 “Nakanishi Chinmatsu-en”

The son of this family business was charming and friendly, he and his wife were more than happy to assist with any enquiry. She is an english teacher at the local school and consequently speaks fluent english – which was a enormously fortunate for me.

The tree pictured was collected from the local mountains. It has been in training for 250 years and was quite old when it was carefully removed from between 2 large boulders in it’s original location.

This couple were nothing short of amazing.

Ah, it’s a tough old life – sweet cold tea and masterpieces as far as the eye can see…

A peek over the fence – the neighbours are busy at work too…

This couple spent 3 hours out of their workday, driving me to local nurseries and assisting my every query.

They also provided me with the stamp map pictured.

If you visit Kinashi you MUST go to this nursery!

The home of the above Family

I stumbled across this by accident:

35degrees celcius in the shade and Grannie is busy with this masterpiece.

  4. Wonderful! But remember, the europeans will soon surpass the Japanese in Bonsai,
NOT !!! While others pronounce how good they are, the Japanese quietly go about creating the best Bonsai in the world. What an amazing hidden treasure you discovered! Thank you for sharing!!!
